How Does Ground Support Equipment Become Outdated
Aircraft GSE (ground support equipment) is intended for certain tasks and does them very effectively. However, over time or owing to technological developments, that machinery becomes outmoded or even useless. GSE, believe it or not, may have a substantial influence on aircraft operations, both positively and negatively. But how does this equipment get outdated and/or obsolete? Although there are some GSE items that will never have to face the condition of obsolescence, it doesn't rule out the possibility of them becoming outdated in the wake of developments. To a certain extent, yes. And there are some GSE items that probably will never become obsolete, particularly unpowered GSE such as maintenance stands.
